A Horrible Night

We made a game for Global Game Jam! And you can play it

HERE!

It’s a mix of “Choose Your Own Adventure” books with the classic Oregon Trail and some strategic RPG battles.

It’s probably our biggest and more ambitious jam game, so a lot of stuff got left out. The combat is not very intuitive, but it’s simple, just drag the character to swap them. Keep in mind that they have different attack range, damage and health.

Vector Chimera

Hey, we decided to share this tool we made, it’s called Vector Chimera.

Vector Chimera is a tool for changing the palette of multiple .png files. This might be useful for changing the palette of a whole project. Still in development and full of bugs.

Download Vector Chimera 0.11

Changelog:

  • Added “only PNG” error message
  • Added text boxes for more precision
  • Fixed HSV precision bug

OTS on Steam!

Yay it’s finally here! Out There Somewhere is available on Steam AT LAST!

We made a brand new version of the game specifically for the Steam release, we hope you like what we’ve changed. :)

You can also buy the soundtrack here:

And here’s a press kit if you’re looking for more info.

The classic DRM-free version will still be available on Desura in case you can’t run the new Steam version for some reason.

If you have the classic game on Desura, you can redeem a Steam key for the new version here.

If you had bought the game from any other place and don’t feel like buying it again on Steam, you can send us an email at studiominiboss@gmail.com with a proof of purchase and we will send you a Steam key!
Please be patient if it takes a while, we’re still getting the hang of it. :)
But if you don’t get your key in a few weeks, please contact us again because we miiiight have skipped you by accident.

Hey everyone! We are trying our absolute best to send free Steam keys to everyone who had bought the classic version of Out There Somewhere, but we’re having all kinds of problems (and we really didn’t know our game had so many fans <3), so I’d like to ask for a little patience, please.

This link should work for those who own the game on Desura: http://www.desura.com/games/out-there-somewhere/keys
BUT! Despite our Steam page saying the game was going to be released today at 9pm (Brazil time), and even having a countdown for it, the release didn’t happen and we still have no idea why.
So if you tried to redeem your key and it didn’t work, please try again once the game is live.

We are hoping the game will be published on Steam some time tomorrow (May 21), but there’s no way we can be sure. We will write to Valve in case that doesn’t happen, but as you may know, they take days (sometimes weeks) to reply to small developers like us.

Just a reminder, MiniBoss’ games are something we do in our spare time and we are only two people, so please try to forgive our lack of experience with these things.

Out There Somewhere is coming to Steam on May 20th 2014!

Hey everyone!

We’re sorry to keep you waiting for so long, but this is finally happening. OTS will be released on Steam!

Since its first release in 2012, we changed a few things: fixed bugs, improved some of the graphics, level design and other things we weren’t happy with.
The game also has a bunch of achievements now, cloud saving and it runs on Mac!

CHECK OUR STORE PAGE!

If you already have the classic version of Out There Somewhere and don’t want to buy it again, feel free to drop us an email at studiominiboss@gmail.com with a proof of purchase and we will send you a Steam key for the new version.

The soundtrack is finally available too!
It was entirely remade for this new Out There, but the classic versions of the tracks are also there.

Enjoy!

(For those who were asking us about the PS3/PS Vita port: it was being made by another studio, Stairs Lab, but they’ve interrupted it.)
